Troppi complimenti fanno male ai bambini?   We must not exaggerate with the praise for our children as they could be counterproductive. So says a study by psychologists at Ohio State University and the University of Amsterdam, which in their three experiments, on 144 parents (88% mothers) and 240 children, want to demonstrate that there is no need to use adverbs and adjectives when giving a positive evaluation of the work of children. Exaggerating words and compliments to children to make them feel more insecure may not be a good idea since – say the psychologists – it may make small children feel pressured.
